How do I become a PowerUp® Instructor?

The first step is to purchase the Instructor Starter Pack in the program of your choice.  The Instructor Starter Pack includes the Instructor Manual which will provide all of the program components, Intructor Tips and Tricks, and instructions for all of the PowerUp exercises.  the contact form indicating your interest in becoming a PowerUp Instructor.  There are no prerequisites to becoming a PowerUp Instructor, although a fitness or education background is always a plus.  Different facilities may have specific requirements (e.g., CPR certification, etc.).  It is the responsibilty of the instructor to comply with the facility or organization's requirements. 

 


PowerUp®, PowerUp® Fitness, PowerUp® Your School and the PowerUp Fitness Logos are registered trademarks of PowerUp Fitness, LLC, which holds copyright ownership on all PowerUp® related material and use of name and logo. Anyone who teaches the PowerUp programs without purchasing the PowerUp progam is in violation of trademark and copyright laws.

Are there Specific Requirements to become a PowerUp Instructor?

There are no prerequisites for teaching our classes other than following the guidelines outlined in the Instructor Manual.  However, it helps if you have some group exercise experience or enjoy working with children.  The key to becoming a successful PowerUp Instructor is a positive attitude and enthusiasm for making kid’s fitness fun!

After I purchase the training manual and lesson plans, what’s next?

After purchasing the PowerUp Instructor Manual and lesson plans, you can start teaching when you feel ready!  Every PowerUp Instructor is an independent contractor, so you will set up your own schedule, rates, terms, agreements, etc. with the facilities you chose. 


The PowerUp Instructor manual will teach you about the PowerUp program and how to lead the PowerUp classes.  The manual and program materials that are included provide plenty of ideas and copyrighted lessons to get you started. 


It is important to note that some fitness facilities may require their instructors to have a group exercise certification and some schools may require background checks.  PowerUp programs are considered specialty classes, like yoga or Spinning in fitness centers or as extracurricular programs in schools.  Ask your local fitness facilities and schools about any additional instructor requirements.

Is there a need for PowerUp® Instructors?

Yes!  Not only is there a need, but there is a demand!  Once you bring PowerUp programs to your area, you’ll create even more of a demand simply because more parents and kids will want to see and try PowerUp classes!

Can I teach PowerUp Classes at Multiple Locations?

You may experience a demand for PowerUp Fitness Classes from multiple facilities. 


As long as you are setting your own rates and conducting PowerUp Classes for personal use as outlined in the instructor manual and agreement, you can teach PowerUp classes in as many places as you would like.  However, we do ask that you provide all class location information. This helps keep us up-to-date on where you are teaching classes.  We will also help you advertise your classes

What is the difference between PowerUp® Fitness Classes and PowerUp® Your School Instructor Training?

PowerUp Fitness Classes are designed for fitness centers, health clubs, or community organizations.  The PowerUp Fitness classes incorporate exercise equipment and do not include the Common Core academic material.  The PowerUp Fitness Instructor Manual Classes instructors with the tools to implement PowerUp Fitness Classes in fitness center or health club like settings.  While some exercises are similar in both programs, many of the games and exercises differ because equipment is used for the PowerUp Fitness classes. The style of teaching, lesson plans, and participation numbers also differ between the two programs and therefore separate training manuals are needed.


PowerUp Your School Classes are implemented in schools and academic or extension settings.  The PowerUp Your School program is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and incorporates academic material into each lesson.  The lesson plans, class structure, and program setting have specific instructions outlined only in the PowerUp Your School Instructor Manual.
